Plant dyes paintings

Since 2019, my work has focused on an in-depth exploration of natural color production, delving into the chemistry of color and its synthesis from plants in the Silesian landscape. Obtaining pigments such as chlorophyll, carotenoids, riboflavin, caramel, and anthocyanins, I have undertaken to create modern paintings that harmonize with their surroundings, using only ecological materials such as linen, natural plant glue, kozo paper, and plant dyes. My work embodies the essence of Silesia and connects art with nature through sustainable solutions.

Exploring the colors of nature and extracting organic dyes from native plants, rocks, and roots, my paintings offer abstract transformations of the landscapes observed during my research.

Beyond technical analysis, my fascination encompasses the dynamic processes of degradation, modification, and transformation in my work. As natural pigments slowly fade and transform over time, they leave behind a fragile echo of our memories—a brief testament to human existence and presence. Establishing a solid compositional framework from the outset becomes essential, providing a solid foundation for the artwork, even as vibrant colors fade.

In my art, I explore the intricate relationship between human existence within the context of the work and the viewer. I create a representation of the human experience that captures the fleeting and structured nature of time. Like humanity, my works are subject to irreversible change, fading and passing away, leaving behind poignant reflections on the impermanence of art and life.
