Taohuatan Artist Residency
The Taohuatan Artist Residency took place in Anhui, China, in October 2019. The programme combined individual studio practice with artistic exchange, excursions through the surrounding landscape, and encounters with local culture and traditional crafts, including the production of Xuan paper.
During the residency, I developed a new series of paintings inspired by the colours, architecture, landscape, and atmosphere of the region. Selected works were subsequently presented in the Taohuatan 5th International Artist Residency Exhibition at the Hefei–Kurume Friendship Art Gallery in Hefei, China.
